Podiatary
Podiatry (also known as chiropody) is the diagnosis and treatment by podiatrists of diseases and other disorders of the feet.
A podiatrist studies for three years to obtain a degree in Podiatric Medicine or Podiatry. Podiatrists are independent clinicians, qualified to diagnose, treat and rehabilitate foot and lower limb problems.
We also prevent and correct deformity, keep people mobile and active, relieve pain, treat infections and monitor high-risk conditions such as diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis. We can help with bunions, Verrucae, athlete’s foot, hard skin (callus), corns, thickened or in-growing nails, heel pain, shin splints and painful feet.
Detailed podiatric biomechanical assessment of foot structure and function can identify areas that are causing pain and with the use of special insoles (orthotics) can re-align the foot to prevent problems reoccurring.
