Osteopathy
Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment which looks mainly at problems within the musculo-skeletal system. These include muscles, joints, tendons, ligaments, nerves and fascia.
Osteopaths use a 'hands on' approach to help patients overcome these structural changes by focusing on improving joint restrictions and muscular tightness.
Osteopathy's main strength lies in the unique way patients are assessed. This is in the form of a highly developed sense of touch to identify points of weakness or excessive strain throughout the body.
All osteopaths undergo a rigorous training degree and are required to be registered with the General Osteopathic Council http://www.osteopathy.org.uk. Their training enables them to make a diagnosis of the presenting condition and construct an appropriate course of treatment.
